Dimension Canada Networks Inc, Façade design consultancy services typically provide expert advice, design solutions, and support to architects, building owners, and developers regarding the exterior appearance and functionality of a building's façade. Our services aim to enhance the aesthetic appeal, energy efficiency, sustainability, and performance of the building envelope.

We co-operate with Architect and other consultants during the initial project stages to ensure that the designs are optimal with no excessive and un-necessary façade systems.

Our Façade design / consultancy services include the following:

  • Concept Design.
    We review the architectural drawings and prepare a Preliminary Façade Design Scheme for glazing, cladding and other structures, taking into consideration environmental issues, safety and security, design life, flexibility, access, maintenance and capital cost. We work with design team to define performance criteria to develop the façade concepts and technical aspects of the design. Advise of material, manufacturing and construction methods.
    If prequalification is involved, we support our clients in applying for particular façade projects. We advise on the selection of materials and design, cost estimates, the selection of suitable suppliers and subcontractors and the development of a technically viable solution.
  • Developed Design.
    We work closely with design team to develop the Construction Strategy Report. Such strategy can consider specific aspects of the design that may affect the buildability and construction sequence of the project, to satisfy the Access and Maintenance Strategy. We design the façade taking into consideration shading systems and solar control glazing. We design the façade taking into consideration thermal performance, minimization of cold bridging and assessment of condensation task.
  • Tender Review
    We provide technical input during tendering process. Review technical proposals from tenders for compliance with tender requirements. Provide cost consultancy with any assistance required during the Tender Evaluation Stage.
  • Post Design Stage
    We review subcontractors’ submissions and provide comments on calculations, technical drawings, material specifications and proposed construction methodology.
  • Prequalification
    If prequalification is involved, we support our clients in applying for particular façade projects. We advise on the selection of materials and design, cost estimates, the selection of suitable suppliers and subcontractors and the development of a technically viable solution.
  • Thermal Modelling
    Services include moisture movement, dew point analysis and condensation risk, as well as glazing thermal performance, solar gain value, shading coefficient for windows, coatings and spacers and overall system thermal performance. We provide insulation calculation, 2D/3D R and U values, thermal bridging analysis with thermal stress and fracture analysis for façade elements.
  • Solar Modelling
    Includes daylight access and indoor visual comfort, solar gains analysis and shading strategy and glare control.
  • Glass Technology
    Services include thickness, strength and deflection calculations for glass panes, structural calculations for fins, platforms, beams and stairs, assembly sequence and risk analysis for structural / safety glazing and choice of appropriate type.
